6 Fun Dining Experiences in Missouri River Country

We think the best food comes from small towns, and the communities of Missouri River Country are no exception. Whether you’re in the mood for a meaty steak or ice cream sundae, a scenic drive through Northeast Montana will take you there. Here are some of our favorite places to stop:

Celebrations Drug Store in Jordan

Step back in time at Celebrations, a local drug store built in 1937. Inside you’ll find an old time soda fountain counter serving ice cream, milkshakes and other sweet treats. Celebrations is the perfect summertime pitstop when you’re cruising down Main Street in Jordan.

Meadowlark Brewing in Sidney

We had to include a brewery in our list—this is Montana, after all! Meadowlark Brewing and Public House gets “brewery food” right, with appetizers like cheesy fried pickles and entrees like their cajun ribeye. Pay Meadowlark a visit between 11am-10pm next time you’re passing through Sidney. If you’re lucky, the upstairs patio will be open for the perfect Montana dining experience.

Durum Restaurant in Glasgow

The Durum Steak and Pasta House sits right off Highway 2 in Glasgow and provides locals and tourists alike with delicious homestyle dishes. Chef Scott Redstone came from the Art Institute of Colorado and we’ve heard he cooks a mean steak!

The Perkulator In Poplar

You won’t have to search hard for a caffeine boost in Poplar! It’s hard to miss the Perkulator drive-thru coffee shop when driving through town, because it is located in a giant teapot. Cruise through for your next pick-me-up.

Stoughie’s Bar and Grill in Hinsdale

There’s something for everyone at Stoughie’s, whether you’re looking for a casual drink with friends or dinner for the whole family. Opt for summertime visits to eat outside and enjoy events like cornhole tournaments.

The Gateway Club in Fort Peck

Along the shore of Fort Peck Reservoir sits The Gateway Club, stocked with a full bar and mouth-watering menu. If you pass through on the right weekend you could find live music, food specials, karaoke and more!
